Eagle Pass has two institutions of higher learning, Sul Ross University and Southwest Texas Junior College. Together they create a pipeline that consistently develops a capable workforce by transforming Maverick County students into young, knowledgeable professionals.
Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC) is a regional, "open door" institution serving an 11-county area that stretches from the Texas Hill Country to the US-Mexico border. The Eagle Pass campus is committed to enriching the lives and advancing growth through the education of the diverse community. Dual Enrollment, Associate Degree, and Certificate Programs are offered. Bachelor and master's degree programs are available at Sul Ross State University’s Eagle Pass campus, on the eastern edge of the City. Dual credit courses are also offered for high school students.
